JOB PURPOSE

The General Merchandising Manager, Prada Women is responsible for overseeing the

buying and merchandising strategies for the women's category to optimize business

volume while aligning with the Group’s fashion direction and global vision. This role

ensures a cohesive product assortment, maximizes sales opportunities, and drives brand

growth while ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with stores, facilitating

product knowledge for staff by category.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Collection Selection & Product Development:

  • Collaborate with the Group’s design and product development teams to influence collection direction and maximize business potential in the region.
  • Provide strategic feedback on market needs, trends, and consumer preferences to support the creation of a competitive product assortment.


Buying Strategy & Merchandising Mix:

  • Lead the seasonal buying process, ensuring alignment with the brand’s fashion direction while optimizing the commercial and business potential.
  • Review and approve buying budgets for all subsidiaries, controlling the breadth and depth of the product mix to balance brand image with revenue goals.


Sales Performance & Inventory Management:

  • Monitor sales performance and guide subsidiaries to manage inventory efficiently, ensuring timely replenishment to capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Oversee merchandise transfers to maximize sales potential and reduce stock obsolescence.
  • Manage merchandising selections for various events, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and maximizing sales impact.


Store Collaboration & Communication:

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with stores to ensure product strategies are well-executed.
  • Ensure consistent and effective product knowledge education for store staff by category, enhancing their ability to engage with customers and drive sales.


Visual Merchandising Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the Visual Merchandising team to ensure product presentations enhance brand image while optimizing commercial impact.
  • Verify that visual displays align with strategic brand messaging and consumer engagement objectives.


Team Development & Training:

  • Develop and mentor merchandising staff, providing ongoing feedback and coaching.
  • Ensure comprehensive product training programs are implemented at the subsidiary level to empower sales teams with in-depth product knowledge.


Sales Analysis & Reporting:

  • Consolidate and analyze sales data at a regional level to generate actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Provide regular performance reports and strategic recommendations to senior management.


Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Retail Operations, and Visual Merchandising to ensure cohesive execution of brand strategies.
  • Foster strong communication channels with key stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency and strategic alignment.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support promotional campaigns and seasonal initiatives, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned to support the business objectives and brand growth.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in merchandising, buying, or product management within the fashion retail industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in women’s fashion merchandising with a strong understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret sales data to drive business decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills, with a track record of mentoring and growing high-performance teams.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in merchandising systems and retail management software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.


Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel and internationally as needed for buying trips, market visits, and team meetings.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in other regional languages is a plus.
